What We Do
Training & Education: We offer a series of classes led by experienced instructors, covering preparedness basics, vehicle readiness, and medical response.
Local & Regional Deployment: Once trained and equipped, members are ready to deploy with their team in response to emergencies across the region.
Community Support: Beyond major disasters, the team is active in serving local needs, reinforcing our commitment to neighbors helping neighbors.
How It Started
The TPD Volunteer Response Team was born out of a personal mission. After Hurricane Helene, our founder traveled to South Carolina to deliver fuel to a stranded family member one week after the storm. That single act of service revealed how great the need was — not just for family, but for entire communities left struggling in the storm’s aftermath.
Within days, we began organizing large-scale relief efforts. Over $100,000 worth of supplies were collected, loaded into a convoy of trucks and trailers, and deployed to Western North Carolina. For the next month and a half, team members remained on the ground, delivering food, water, fuel, and essential items directly to the hardest-hit communities — as well as providing aid to families in the Augusta area.
What started with one trip to help a loved one quickly grew into a larger mission: equipping everyday people with the training, tools, and structure needed to step up when disaster strikes. That mission became the foundation for the TPD Volunteer Response Team.
Why It Matters
Disasters don’t wait, and when they strike, communities often face gaps in immediate relief. The TPD Volunteer Response Team fills those gaps with trained, ready volunteers who can deliver critical aid on the ground. Our work is about more than preparedness — it’s about service, resilience, and making sure no one is left behind.
